THIS IS A 2025 BUILD WITH DELIVERY/PICKUP AVAILABLE FROM MAY 2026. BALANCE IS DUE 14 DAYS BEFORE HANDOVER.
Matilda will be a full custom, body off, bare metal restomod. Matilda is a 1958, left hand drive, manual transmission, matching numbers body and chassis Volkswagen Beetle.
Matilda will be media blasted, and all necessary metalwork will be carried out to return the body to its original condition.
The car will undergo several weeks of bodywork to ensure that every panel is as straight (or curved) as it is meant to be. We are meticulous with our bodywork standards, and aim to achieve no more than 2mm body filler in any area of the car.
The car will then be painted in a tri-stage process, using only high quality paints and primers. The car will have a custom two tone paint job, with the majority of the car being a custom mint with green pearl, and the lower side panels being Alpine White with green pearl. The same standard of paint application will also apply to the interior, engine bay, and under the hood/trunk area.
The chassis will be completely rebuilt, with all new best quality floor pans. The entire pan will be powder coated in the powder coat colour samples shown. All new four wheel disc upgrade, all new lines, new master cylinder.
Wheels will be classic ‘smoothies’ - 15x5” in the front, 15x7” in the rear. Classic dome style hubcaps. Five brand new tires.
The car will be lowered slightly to a comfortable driving height.
The car will receive a brand new ‘Freeway Flyer’ transmission.
The car will receive a brand new, zero mile, 1776cc engine with dual carbs. The engine tins will be powder coated to compliment the colour scheme of the car. A 12 MONTH, 12,OOO MILE WARRANTY APPLIES TO THE ENGINE.
The car will receive a brand new wiring harness. Upgrade from 6v to 12v where applicable. Brand new speedometer, plus steering wheel mounted gauges - clock and tachometer - EXCEPT when the buyer requests an upgrade to air-condition. The aircon unit will take up too much space for the extra gauges to be mounted on the stereo column.
Brand new LED headlights and tail lights, Retro-sound stereo with bluetooth connectivity, for handsfree phone calls, with quality hidden (under front seat) speakers, single USB charging port. Custom dash knobs, extended rear window pop outs, Vintage Speed shifter, custom pedal assembly, under trunk upholstery, and custom polished aluminium hood hinges, and glovebox hinges.
Full custom leather interior, with pattern-matched floral headliner, and square weave carpet. Leather samples are not available to show as all leather for these builds will be custom dyed at the time to match the paint colours. The floral motif in the headliner will also be used to create the custom vinyl decal which will appear inside the trim line on the exterior sides of the car. The interior is an evolving process, the full design will not be determined until the time of the build, but will feature extensive embroidery throughout.
The exterior of the car will look almost identical to ‘Rose’, except for the colour and the vinyl side decals. All other design elements will remain the same. Photos of Rose are for reference only. The colour and floral patterns will be as outlined in the first photos.
OPTIONAL EXTRA: If the buyer would like to upgrade and have air-conditioning installed, this can be done, however the additional cost must be paid at the time of the deposit and is also non-refundable. Cost to add air-conditioning is $4,000.

The vehicle will remain in our care for a period of approximately six months for the purpose of marketing, showing the car, and to iron out any issues that might arise with the car, before handing it off to the owner. Pick up/delivery will be available in May the following year.
Final payment is required 14 days before handoff. Failure to make final payment will forfeit the deposit and render the sale invalid. Payments can be made throughout the build, if the buyer prefers, but are not necessary.
We intend to show this car during the 24/25 show season. Any awards won by the vehicle prior to handover remain the property of MetalMorphosis Customs.
The buyer is responsible for all transport arrangements and costs associated with the delivery. Vehicle will be located in Danville, Alabama, USA. We are able to deliver the vehicle via covered transport to the contiguous US, for an additional fee. When we deliver the vehicle we will be available to explain the car in full detail, and answer any questions you might have about the vehicle. Delivery costs must be paid in advance.
The build progress may be shown on our social medias throughout the build. The car may also feature in mainstream media if opportunities arise throughout the build.

WARRANTY & AFTER SALES SERVICE
Due to the unpredictable nature of classic cars, it’s not possible to provide an exhaustive warranty on our vehicles HOWEVER we want you to be happy with your purchase and, as such, we are always available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
New engines, transmissions, aircon units, and several other components are covered by a 12 month warranty by their respective manufacturers, and we are happy to assist you with making a claim against any of those components should it be necessary.
We are happy to provide basic servicing, maintenance and repairs to your Botanical Beetle, for as long as we remain in business, free of charge, up to the value of $1500 (parts and labor) annually. As long as you can bring the vehicle to us, and work within our schedule at the time. This service is not transferable, if you choose to sell the vehicle.
We will not cover repairs that arise from another business/person working on the vehicle resulting in malfunction.
We pride ourselves in producing high quality vehicles, and keeping the vehicle for six months after the completion of the build allows us to find any issues that might arise with the paintwork or interior, and address them prior to handing over the vehicle. Because we cannot be there to see how the vehicle is being treated/stored/cared for, we aren’t able to provide a warranty on these items. Having said that, we are always willing to work with the buyer to try to find a resolution to most problems. How far we are willing to go to assist relies heavily on the attitude of the buyer. (ie, be nice and we’ll be nice. Be rude and we may not be very helpful!)
