My name is Cate Culp, I’m an Australian-born creative. I have a colourful history, and I refuse to spell like an American.
I’m not sorry.
For most of my adult life people have been paying me for stuff that comes out of my brain. I’ve been a writer, photographer, artist, graphic designer, textile artist, wedding planner/designer, interior decorator, and automotive trimmer.
You should know, I swear quite a lot and I have absolutely no fucking interest in doing a beige interior in your car. Zero. I spent over a decade in the bridal industry, planning and designing everything wedding related, resulting in a painfully over-exaggerated eye for detail. I am meticulous, disciplined, obsessive and focused… except when I’m not.
I’m an outspoken, unapologetic, bleeding-heart lefty, who started (and continues to fund) an orphanage in a developing country. I have a back-catalogue of published erotic photographs. I’m a member and ally of the LGBTQI+ community. I align myself spiritually with the teachings of Buddhism, and while I don’t consider myself to be too much of a hippie, I do believe that the things I create carry a small part of my personal energy. I create with love, compassion and kindness, in a hope that my creations will hold some of that energy.
I’m also autistic, and it’s taken me almost half a century to work out how to use that to my (and your) benefit. I’ve honed my skills, refined my art, and - most importantly - identified how I work best.
If anything you’ve read on this page bothers you, then I am not the person for your project. My commissions are currently closed. I am not taking on any client work at this time.
